The Leal Lab has partnered with the Aspenwood Company which owns 13 retirement homes in the Houston area (https://www.theaspenwoodcompany.com/) to hold a lecture series for the residents on topics related to the aging brain.
Dr. Stephanie Leal and her team, including NIH postdoctoral fellow Dr. Hannah Ballard and graduate student Lorena Ferguson, presented to two retirement communities (The Village at Southampton and The Village at River Oaks) this year on topics of “The Aging Brain: Can we prevent memory decline and AD?”, “Women’s Health across adulthood”, and “Mental Health in Aging”.
